Standard bag subscription
Key information
You'll receive a bag once a week for 25 weeks from June to the end of November.
Each week, you'll receive 7 to 9 seasonal vegetables – the best and freshest of what's available on the farm. It's a good fit for 2 person households who like their veggies or for a family who eat a moderate amount of vegetables.
Here is an example of what a typical bag might look like: a bag of mixed salad, beetroot, cherry tomatoes, fennel, potatoes, basil, kale and salad onions.
We use re-usable bags rather than boxes, so you will receive your veg in a lovely made-in-Dundee jute bag, and we ask that you please bring it back the following week to ensure we always have enough to fulfil the orders.
You'll also get a newsletter every week with updates about the farm (here's a sample) and information about each week's contents. We also provide recipes which our customers tell us they really appreciate (especially for more unusual varieties!)
Pricing explained
As a CSA scheme we encourage our subscribers to pay up front. Paying before the season starts helps the farm's cashflow when sales are low and initial costs are high (e.g. seeds, compost, etc.) Most importantly, it means we know how many people to grow for throughout the whole season.
If you pay up front you get a weekly discount and pay for only 23 weeks, which allows for two weeks holiday during the season. If you do not take this time, you get two weeks free!
Collection or delivery
Most customers choose to collect their veg bag directly from us at the farm, just behind Bowhouse, St Monans.
However, we also deliver to homes in the East Neuk. The cost for this is £2 extra each week.
Bags are picked, packed and ready to be collected from 3pm on Wednesdays.
If you cannot collect on Wednesday you're welcome to collect on Thursdays too.
Payment options
1. A one-off payment of £230 before the start of the season (£10/week), payable by June 1st.
2. Two payments of £115 before the start of the season. We want to offer this option because we recognise that a share is a large payment to make all at once. The first payment is due at sign up and the second by June 1st.
3. Alternatively if you would like to pay by Standing Order this option is £11/week. To secure your share, we ask that you pay £11 at sign up as a deposit and then start your standing order from the second week of veg bags. If you go on holiday, just let us know the week before and don't pay your standing order that week.
